Position Overview

ADNOC Schools is seeking high‑performing Elementary Classroom Teachers for an August 2026 start. The vacancy is based at ADNOC School Ghayathi Campus in Abu Dhabi. ADNOC Schools follow the Massachusetts State Curriculum, offering superb facilities in Abu Dhabi City and the Western Region.

The Massachusetts Curriculum is highly regarded, with close links to prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and MIT. Graduates receive the American High School Diploma, the standard entry qualification for US colleges.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a climate for learning that is conducive for outstanding practice.
  • Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives.
  • Setting tasks that challenge students and ensure high levels of interest.
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations.
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior achievement.
  • Identifying SEN or very able students and ensuring that their needs are met through differentiation.
  • Providing clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Making effective use of assessment for learning.
  • Using performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons.
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy, encouraging good practice in punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
  • Using a variety of teaching strategies to match approach to content, present key ideas, and use appropriate vocabulary.
  • Effective questioning, listening carefully to students, addressing errors and misconceptions.
  • Selecting appropriate learning resources and developing study skills through the library, ICT, and other technologies.
  • Assessing how well objectives have been achieved and using findings to improve teaching.
  • Marking students’ work at least once every two weeks and setting targets for progress.
  • Using performance data to inform planning, ensuring learning continues to add value.
  • Assessing and recording student progress systematically, checking completion of work, monitoring strengths and development areas, and informing planning.
  • Assessing students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting reports to parents.
  • Contributing to subject development by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and work schemes.
  • Keeping subject knowledge up to date through CPD and professional reading.
  • Attending professional development workshops as appropriate.
  • Undertaking additional duties as required by the Principal or Vice‑Principal as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Passionate and caring educator.
  • Bachelor in Education or a related bachelor’s degree with a PGCE or other teacher qualification, and a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the related field.
  • Experience with the American curriculum.
  • Commitment to an extensive enrichment program.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Respect for all members of the school community.
  • Experience with students for whom English is an additional language.
  • Positive, solution‑focused attitude toward working life.
  • Clean Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check.
