Electronics and Instrumentation Technician
Install, commission, and maintain electronic and instrumentation equipment (sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLC/DCS systems) in offshore environments.
Perform calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices.
Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits, control loops, and instrumentation systems under offshore operating conditions.
Interpret and update electrical/instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
Support shutdowns, commissioning, and plant upgrades in collaboration with electrical and mechanical teams.
Ensure compliance with offshore safety standards, ISO/IEC codes, and company HSE policies.
Document calibration, maintenance, and repair activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate in Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum [X] years of offshore experience in oil & gas, shipyard, or marine environments.
Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, and field instrumentation.
Knowledge of vendor-specific systems (e.g., Yokogawa, Emerson, Honeywell).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in offshore conditions.
Familiarity with calibration tools and software.
Skills
Offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET).
H2S awareness and offshore medical fitness certification.
Experience with SAP/ERP systems for maintenance documentation.
