Job Title:Electrical Site Engineer – Substation
Company Introduction:
We are a leading EPC contracting company in Saudi Arabia, specializing in the construction of high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) substations, overhead transmission lines (OHTL), power plants, water treatment plants, water pipelines, and industrial plant projects. To support the successful execution of oursubstation constructionprojects, we are seeking an experiencedElectrical Site Engineerto oversee construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
Position Overview:
TheElectrical Site Engineer – Substation Constructionwill be responsible for supervising the installation, execution, and commissioning of electrical systems inHV and EHV substation constructionprojects. This role requires expertise in power transmission and distribution, along with the ability to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with SEC and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the installation ofGIS/AIS switch gear, transformers, circuit breakers, and protection & control panels.
Ensure proper cabling, grounding, and busbar installation in compliance with project specifications.
Monitor the erection and commissioning ofpower transformers, reactors, and auxiliary equipment.
SuperviseSCADA andcommunicationsystemintegration within the substation network.
Site Coordination & Execution:
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless substation construction execution.
Manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Verify and approve electrical works, ensuring compliance with SEC, IEC, and IEEE standards.
Assist in thepre-commissioning and commissioningof substation electrical systems.
Conducthigh-voltage testing, relay protection testing, and functional testingof substation components.
Work closely with testing teams and third-party inspectors to validate substation readiness.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work adheres toSEC, IEC, IEEE, and NECstandards.
Conduct risk assessments and implementsafety measuresfor substation construction activities.
Ensure site personnel followsafety protocolsand procedures to prevent electrical hazards.
Quality Control & Inspection:
Conduct inspections and testing to ensure quality compliance in electrical installation works.
Identify and resolve non-conformities, ensuring construction is aligned with project requirements.
Maintainas-built documentationfor electrical systems and installations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Preparedaily, weekly, and monthly site progress reportsfor project managers and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of material usage, site activities, and project milestones.
Ensure proper documentation ofsite modifications, technical issues, and commissioning results.
Troubleshooting &Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolvetechnical issues in substation equipment installation and commissioning.
Provide on-site engineering support to resolve field challenges during execution.
Work with the design and procurement teams to ensurecorrect material selection and equipment delivery.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineeringor a related field.
