  • Develop detailed testing & commissioning plans
    , procedures, and schedules.

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and vendor documents.

  • Manage and supervise testing & commissioning activities for substation equipment, including:

    • Power Transformers

    • Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) / Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS)

    • MV/LV Switchgear

    • Protection relays and control systems

    • Control & relay panels

    • Cables and cable systems

  • Ensure all pre-commissioning checks and energization procedures are followed.

  • Witness and approve factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).

  • Lead testing of protection schemes
    , including distance, differential, overcurrent, and backup protection.

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays.

  • Verify SCADA integration and communication protocols.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning.

  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized testing and system integration.

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and standards.

  • Review and approve test reports and commissioning records.

  • Maintain proper documentation for all testing activities.

  • Manage and supervise commissioning engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.

  • Allocate work and monitor team performance.

  • Provide technical guidance and training.

  • Coordinate with client, consultant, and authorities for inspections and approvals.

  • Attend meetings and provide technical updates.

  • Support final project handover and client acceptance.

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in electrical projects.

  • At least 5 years in testing & commissioning of substations (HV/MV).

  • Experience in GIS/AIS substations up to 132kV / 220kV / 400kV is preferred.

  • Previous Experiences with TAQA

  • Strong knowledge of substation equipment and systems
    .

  • Expertise in protection relays and testing equipment

  • Familiarity with SCADA and communication protocols
    .

  • Leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication and reporting skills.
