Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and supervise electrical works for building and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for electrical design coordination, site execution, inspections, testing, commissioning, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and UAE authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and supervise electrical systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, shop drawings, and technical details.
- Coordinate electrical works with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other MEP services.
- Supervise electrical installation works at site and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submissions, and specifications.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable UAE codes, authority regulations, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering teams.
- Inspect installation of LV systems, power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, earthing, and low-current systems.
- Monitor installation of electrical panels, DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, transformers, generators, and related equipment.
- Conduct and supervise testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Prepare inspection requests, testing reports, progress reports, and technical documentation.
- Review electrical material requirements and coordinate with procurement and site teams.
- Monitor site progress and ensure electrical works are completed according to the project schedule.
- Identify technical issues and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
- Attend site meetings and technical coordination meetings with consultants and clients.
- Coordinate authority inspections and approvals where required.
- Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and review as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in electrical construction/MEP projects.
- UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Good knowledge of UAE electrical codes and authority requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is an advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical load calculations and voltage-drop calculations.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, airport, or large-scale building projects.
- Experience with DEWA requirements and approvals is an advantage.
- Experience with LV distribution, lighting, power systems, emergency systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and UAE authorities.
- Experience preparing and reviewing shop drawings and as-built drawings.
