A multi-international consultancy company is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Electrical Engineer with Wind Farm expertise to join our team in Ethiopia – Addis Ababa.
The Wind turbine Expert’s job purpose is to manage the complete onsite turbine package. It is the role of the WTG expert to manage the turbine OEM’s daily activities and progression  achieve this, all turbine installation, commissioning & testing activities are executed in a safe manner considering the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
The WTG expert is to support the owner to manage the turbine OEM installation operations on site and to provide technical expertise during the installation activities. The Machinery Engineer shall specifically:
Review the OEMs, crane and turbine installation rigging, and lifting plans are in accordance with contract requirements.
Coordinate with the civil team for handover of the infrastructure to the OEM.
Follow up with the logistics team to ensure the timely delivery of components to site.
Support in the supervision of all lifting operations.
Ensure storage of the turbine components is in compliance with OEM procedures and approved RAMS.
Assure safe and timely installation of the turbines to a mechanical and electrical completion state and handover to commissioning team.
Support the quality process and quality team with technical non-conformities.
Resolve quality deviations (de-snagging) to ensure a smooth handover to the Employer and a smooth operation over the lifetime of the wind farm. To achieve this, all installation, testing, commissioning, and finishing activities are to be executed to the highest possible standards and in a safe and timely manner.
Experience:
Master’s/bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience working as WTG site installation, commissioning & testing.
Experience working with multiple OEMs would be advantageous.
Extensive mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience specific to wind turbines.
Heavy lifting experience.
Required Certificates and Training:
GWO Basic Safety Training consisting of:
First aid.
Fire awareness.
Working at height.
Valid medical evaluation for working at heights.
Valid driving license is advantageous.
Efficiency in the English language.
