Electrical Design Engineer – MEP (Interior Fit-Out)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team for commercial interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in electrical design, lighting layouts, load calculations, and MEP coordination. The candidate must be capable of preparing complete electrical design packages in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), and power distribution drawings.
- Design lighting layouts based on project requirements, including illumination (Lux) calculations and fixture selection.
- Perform electrical load calculations and prepare demand load schedules.
- Design power, lighting, emergency lighting, and low-current systems where required.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and international electrical standards.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and HVAC disciplines.
- Prepare technical specifications and material submittals.
- Review shop drawings and provide technical support during project execution.
- Assist in value engineering and optimization of electrical systems.
- Resolve technical design issues and provide engineering solutions throughout the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for commercial interior fit-out or building projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Lighting design and Lux calculations
- Electrical load calculations
- Power distribution systems
- Cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
- Emergency lighting design
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Experience with Dialux Evo (or equivalent lighting design software).
- Experience with ETAP, Amtech, or similar electrical calculation software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of MEP coordination and authority requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
