Job Description
Occupational Safety Responsibilities
Develop and support operational managers and supervisors in implementing the site EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) plan, ensuring continuous compliance by all parties involved with GE’s scope.
Strive for “Zero” severe accidents/incidents and promote the belief that all accidents are preventable.
Minimize GE’s liability by ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and providing effective EHS advice to site personnel to ensure statutory compliance.
Coordinate EHS activities between different contractors, emphasizing safety matters.
Conduct regular reviews of the site EHS plan, environmental management plan, emergency response plan, and other site-specific EHS plans, ensuring they remain effective and relevant to the progress of the project.
Develop the site EHS induction program for all site team members, ensuring everyone is familiar with their responsibilities in relation to both legal obligations and the site EHS plan.
Develop and manage appropriate educational programs focusing on workplace health and safety and environmental awareness.
Implement an EHS audit and inspection program, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
Work closely with the SIM (Safety, Incident, and Monitoring) team, reporting on the overall state of EHS on-site and the outcome of audits and inspections.
Provide advice and assistance to GE and contractors’ management and employees on health, safety, and environmental legislative compliance and effective risk management.
Ensure proper maintenance of all EHS records.
Investigate or assist in investigating all EHS incidents and events.
Coordinate the site’s EHS incentive and disciplinary schemes.
Loss Prevention Responsibilities
Ensure preventive measures are in place to protect against material and production loss through fire, explosion, theft, unsafe storage, and unsafe transportation, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Environmental Responsibilities
Regularly monitor and ensure compliance with local environmental regulations (country/state).
Take measures to prevent pollution, reduce emissions (particularly SF6), optimize energy consumption, and manage waste.
Health, Hygiene, and Welfare Responsibilities
Ensure adequate amenities are provided and comply with good workplace hygiene standards, including proper ventilation, clean drinking water, first aid facilities, restrooms, furniture, toilets, and safe worker transportation.
Qualification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.).
NEBOSH Certificate.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a site EHS role.
Proven ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.
Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external customers.

KSA National preferred.
