About NAFA: NAFA is the world’s largest membership association for individuals who manage the vehicular fleet and mobility responsibilities for their employers who include corporations, public safety (law enforcement, fire departments), education (universities and K-12 school systems), government agencies (federal, state, municipal, provincial), Utilities, and any other entity that uses vehicles in its normal conduct of business or needs to move people or goods from one place to another. Position Summary: The Education Coordinator plays a key role in delivering high-quality professional education and certification programs. This position supports the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of live, virtual, and on-demand learning experiences while serving as a primary resource for speakers, volunteers, learners, and certification candidates. The role combines project coordination, customer service, data management, and program administration in a collaborative, fully remote environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Within the limits of NAFA’s bylaws and policies, the education coordinator is responsible for the following.
- Educational programming: Support the Chief Learning Officer and Manager of Education in the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of professional education programs, including live events, virtual learning, on-demand education, certification programs, and new learning initiatives. Assist with project planning, timelines, and implementation to ensure successful program delivery.
- Speaker management: Oversee coordination of speakers and presenters at both virtual and live education sessions and events.
- Customer service: Provides appropriate, timely responses to all inquiries about general information, pricing, procedures, policies, etc. Identifies, supports, and encourages member and non-member certification and certificate prospects throughout the customer experience. Oversees proactive (triggered) customer communication, including (not limited to) acknowledging, reviewing, and processing purchases, applications, enrollment, progress updates, completion, and (when applicable) maintenance. Monitors general email inbox.
- Data & program analytics: Analyze program participation, learner engagement, and certification data to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and support data-driven decision-making. Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and recommendations that improve educational outcomes and organizational performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Membership, Events, and Operations to coordinate educational programs and certification initiatives. Build strong relationships across teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, communications are aligned, and learners, volunteers, speakers, and stakeholders have a seamless experience.
- Community management: Manage public and/or private online communities for candidates and certificants and responsible for (not limited to) growing the reach, monitoring/seeding discussions, and cultivating engagement (retention). Manages and fosters highly engaged volunteers to support education and certification program activities.
Additional Requirements:
- Travel to attend overnight staff meetings, committee meetings, and events as requested or required (estimated 5-6 times per year).
- While rare, work above and beyond a 37.5-hour work week may be required a few times per year seasonally, to fulfill the responsibilities and duties of the position, including some weekend work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position is exempt under the guidelines of FLSA.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Three or more years of experience coordinating education, training, certification, credentialing, professional development, or similar programs, preferably within a membership association, nonprofit, higher education, or comparable environment.
- Experience working with volunteers, committees, speakers, instructors, or other subject matter experts.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, and the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.
- Ability to travel approximately 5–6 times per year for staff meetings, conferences, and events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting professional certification or credentialing programs.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), association management systems (AMS), webinar platforms (such as Zoom), or similar learning technologies.
- Experience working within a membership association or professional society.
- Experience in the fleet, mobility, transportation, or automotive industry is a plus but not required.

NAFA members control more than 4.8 million vehicles and manage assets in excess of $122 billion. These vehicles travel more than 84-billion miles annually. In addition, NAFA is supported by more than 1,000 Supplier members representing companies that support fleet managers in their jobs. These include vehicle manufacturers, leasing companies, aftermarket equipment suppliers, telematics firms, service providers, and others. NAFA members connect with each other and the fleet industry through eight Regions, which build lasting fleet professional connections.
