Job Title: Electrical & Renewables Engineer (PV, BESS, Wind)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Renewables Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in the commissioning, technical compliance, and performance validation of renewable energy systems and power infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will specialize in solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wind power, ensuring compliance with technical standards, evaluating test results, and supporting the commissioning phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and witness commissioning tests for solar PV, wind, and BESS systems at project sites.
Conduct technical reviews, performance verification, and compliance evaluations of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Analyze electrical test data, including power output, grid integration, efficiency, and stability assessments.
Verify EPC contractor test results, identifying deviations and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Prepare and submit Test Findings Reports, including:
Summary of test results and observations
Description of performed tests and methodologies
Evaluation of compliance with contractual and industry standards
Independent expert review and recommendations
Evidence and analysis of any anomalies observed during testing
Ensure the seamless grid integration of renewable energy assets, optimizing efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with project teams, EPC contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout commissioning and operational phases.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting, optimization, and performance improvements of renewable power systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, commissioning, and testing for power generation and renewable energy projects.
Strong understanding of grid-connected renewable energy systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
Expertise in PV system design, energy storage integration, and wind turbine technology.
Proficiency in electrical simulation and analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, PVSyst, Homer, DigSilent, PSCAD).
Knowledge of international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and grid codes for renewable energy).
Experience in SCADA systems, power electronics, and energy management systems for renewables.
Ability to interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, and test reports.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Willingness to be on-site in Abu Dhabi during commissioning phases and manage required permits (CICPA if applicable).
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Solar PV Engineer (PV Installation/Design) or BESS Specialist preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or PMP certification is an advantage.
HSE and industry-specific certifications are beneficial.
