Overview
The Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans used in the design, construction, and maintenance of engineering projects.
This role involves working closely with engineers and architects to develop accurate blueprints, schematics, and layouts that adhere to project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams based on engineering specifications and calculations.
Work with engineers, architects, and other team members to gather necessary information and requirements for creating accurate drawings.
Use CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, ensuring that all designs comply with industry standards and project requirements.
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and clients, ensuring all corrections are accurately implemented.
Maintain an organized filing system for all drawings, including revisions and updates, ensuring that the latest versions are easily accessible.
Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports related to the drawings.
Ensure that all drawings are completed on time and to a high standard of accuracy and detail.
Conduct site visits as required to gather measurements and data for design updates or revisions.
Education
Diploma or Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related field.
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Micro Station, or similar).
Knowledge of 3D modeling software is an advantage.
Years Of Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting or a related role within the engineering or construction industry.
Technical Knowledge
Drafting Skills:
Strong ability to create detailed and accurate technical drawings, schematics, and plans using CAD software.
Attention to Detail:
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce precise and error-free drawings that meet project specifications.
