Job Summary
Desert Man Transporting & Contracting LLC (DMTC) is seeking a skilled Draughtsman (Civil/Infrastructure) to join our technical team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for civil infrastructure, roadworks, utilities, earthworks, and building projects in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings for civil, infrastructure, and building projects.
- Develop drawings for roadworks, earthworks, utilities (water, sewer, drainage), pipelines, and associated civil structures.
- Interpret engineering sketches, IFC drawings, and design documents to produce detailed technical drawings.
- Coordinate with engineers, site teams, and consultants to ensure drawings are aligned with site requirements and project specifications.
- Revise drawings based on comments from engineers, consultants, and client feedback in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper documentation and control of all drawings, revisions, and design records.
- Assist in quantity take-off and material estimation when required.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant authority standards and project specifications (Abu Dhabi Municipality / ADQCC / ADNOC standards where applicable).
- Support site teams by providing updated drawings and resolving technical drawing-related issues.
- Work closely with the planning and engineering team to support project execution and progress tracking.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a Civil Draughtsman in UAE or GCC.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of Civil 3D or MicroStation is an advantage.
- Experience in infrastructure, roadworks, utilities, and building projects.
- Good understanding of construction methods and technical detailing.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Familiarity with local authority standards and submission requirements.
- Experience working with contractors in civil and heavy construction sectors.
