We are currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman / Draft Engineer – Exhibitions to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, shop drawings, production drawings, and construction details for exhibition stands, event structures, kiosks, retail activations, and custom-built environments while ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project requirements.
Job Purpose
- Responsible for developing accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, production details, and construction documentation for exhibition, event, and custom fabrication projects.
- Support Design, Estimation, Production, and Project Management teams by translating concepts into detailed technical drawings suitable for fabrication, assembly, installation, and client approvals.
- Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, venue requirements, safety standards, and production capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, technical drawings, and production drawings for exhibition stands, kiosks, retail displays, events, and custom-built structures.
- Convert conceptual designs into accurate technical and fabrication drawings.
- Develop detailed joinery, metal, acrylic, glass, lighting, and branding production drawings.
- Prepare construction details, assembly details, and installation drawings.
- Coordinate with Designers to ensure design intent is accurately translated into technical documentation.
- Coordinate with Production and Project Teams to ensure drawings are practical and fabrication-ready.
- Prepare authority and venue submission drawings when required.
- Review project specifications, measurements, and technical requirements.
- Conduct site measurements and surveys when necessary.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, project requirements, or site conditions.
- Ensure all drawings comply with venue regulations, engineering requirements, and safety standards.
- Prepare BOQ support drawings and material quantity references for Estimation teams.
- Maintain proper drawing revisions, records, and document control.
- Support Project Managers during production, installation, and site execution stages.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding technical details and fabrication requirements.
- Ensure drawings are delivered within project deadlines and milestones.
- Assist in developing standard drawing templates and technical documentation procedures.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Drafting Technology, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience as a Draftsman or Draft Engineer within the exhibitions, events, interior fit-out, joinery, or construction industry.
- Strong UAE experience in exhibition stand design and production is highly preferred.
- Experience preparing production and shop drawings for custom-built exhibition stands and event structures.
- Knowledge of venue submission requirements and authority approvals is an advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
- Strong understanding of exhibition fabrication, joinery, and construction detailing.
- Ability to prepare highly detailed production and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and installation techniques.
- Experience with SketchUp, 3D modeling software, and rendering tools is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications and construction standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and technical coordination abilities.
- Good time management and deadline-driven mindset.
