Job Summary

The Food Dispatcher coordinates fleet routing, monitors driver compliance, and ensures strict adherence to Dubai Municipality food safety standards (such as HACCP and Foodwatch tracking). This role bridges the gap between the warehouse team, sales departments, and delivery drivers to maximize route efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)%: Meeting strict delivery windows for hotels, restaurants, and cafe outlets.
  • Cold Chain Integrity: Zero temperature breaches during transit for perishable goods.
  • Route Optimization: Minimizing fuel consumption, gate fees, and delivery times across UAE.

Key Responsibilities

1. Route Planning & Fleet Scheduling

  • Optimize routes daily to balance delivery loads.
  • Assign deliveries to drivers based on vehicle capacity, specific zone expertise, and delivery windows.
  • Account for traffic patterns, peak hours, and restricted delivery zones in major areas like Downtown Dubai or Dubai Marina.
  • Organize entry permits for specific delivery hubs, such as DP World / Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) or major mall loading docks.

2. Cold Chain & Food Safety Compliance

  • Enforce Dubai Municipality regulations by verifying that refrigerated vehicles hold the required temperature before loading.
  • Monitor real-time temperatures of reefers (chilled/frozen trucks) during transit using GPS and telematics tracking tools.
  • Log delivery parameters strictly within the Dubai Foodwatch Platform for complete digital traceability.
  • Isolate defective vehicles immediately if a cooling system fails, dispatching backup transport to save the stock.

3. Real-Time Tracking & Communication

  • Track driver locations actively using GPS systems to update the internal sales team and external clients on estimated arrival times.
  • Solve transit delays caused by sudden traffic jams, vehicle breakdowns, or issues at customer receiving bays.
  • Act as the primary contact for delivery drivers needing immediate answers regarding route changes or order modifications.
  • Provide clear updates to the warehouse team regarding late returns, rejected items, or rescheduled deliveries.

4. Documentation & Administrative Control

  • Review manifest paperwork including Delivery Notes (DN), invoices, and gate passes prior to fleet departure.
  • Reconcile trip logs at the end of each shift, verifying cash/cheque collections, signatures, and stamps.
  • File digital records of vehicle temperature logs and trip sheets to keep the company audit-ready.

Minimum Requirement

Preferred Asset

Experience

2–3 years in logistics dispatching

Experience in UAE food distribution / FMCG sector

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics

Food Safety

Basic understanding of Cold Chain systems

Dubai Municipality Basic Food Safety certification

Geographic Knowledge

Strong familiarity with UAE Area

Prior experience managing deliveries to major hotels and supermarkets

Software Skills

Basic MS Excel and WhatsApp

Familiarity with Tracking Tools, ERPs, or Delivery Management Software

Languages

Fluent in English

Knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic (to communicate with diverse driving crews)

Core Competencies & Soft Skills

  • High-Stress Tolerance: Remains calm and analytical when multiple delivery issues occur simultaneously during peak morning hours.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly reroutes drivers or shifts schedules when an unexpected roadblock occurs or reroute spare vehicle in case of any accident caused.
  • Clear Communication: Relays instructions clearly to drivers, warehouse teams, and corporate buyers.

Pay: AED3,000.00 – AED4,000.00 per month
