Position: Director – City Public Realm Design
The Director of Design Management is a key role within the City Design Integration team at NEOM The LINE, reporting directly to the Executive Director of City Design Integration. This role oversees the design work by the City Asset Design Architect related to public open spaces and primary circulation, ensuring these elements meet client requirements and support the overall city performance.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the management of design activities for the public realm, ensuring project requirements are met.
Act as the primary contact between the City Design Integration team and the Architectural Consultant responsible for key assets.
Oversee the Architectural Consultant’s work, providing guidance and feedback to align with NEOM The LINE’s standards.
Collaborate with other design teams, including Urban Realm, Infrastructure Engineering, Anchor Asset, and Community Design, to integrate public realm designs into the broader cityscape.
Manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are adhered to.
Work with senior leadership to develop strategies for city public realm design that align with NEOM The LINE’s vision.
Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve design challenges, maintaining cohesion with project objectives.
Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment.
What We’re Looking For:
25+ years of extensive experience in urban planning or architecture, focusing on large-scale urban development and public spaces.
Strong leadership and management skills, capable of overseeing complex projects and stakeholder coordination.
Deep understanding of architectural design principles, especially regarding critical city assets.
Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with consultants, teams, and leadership.
Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality design.
Experience managing design processes, timelines, and budgets to meet project goals.
Collaborative team player with experience in multidisciplinary environments.
