Director – Private Equity, Shipping and Logistics
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director to lead and grow our Private Equity investments within the Shipping and Logistics sectors. The ideal candidate will combine deep industry knowledge with strong financial acumen, leveraging a robust network to identify, execute, and manage investments that deliver long-term value.
This role requires a proactive leader with experience across the investment lifecycle—from deal origination and due diligence to portfolio management and exit strategies. The Director will work closely with senior leadership and portfolio company executives to drive operational performance and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sector-specific investment strategies in Shipping and Logistics.
Identify and originate high-potential investment opportunities, leveraging industry networks and relationships.
Conduct market mapping and competitive analysis to inform investment theses.
Lead end-to-end deal execution, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence coordination, negotiation, and structuring.
Prepare investment committee materials and present recommendations with clear risk-return assessments.
Oversee the performance and strategic direction of portfolio companies.
Partner with management teams to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and value creation.
Monitor financial performance, KPIs, and strategic milestones.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including co-investors, advisors, and board members.
Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, enhancing the firm’s visibility in the shipping and logistics sectors.
Key Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Strategy Consulting, with a strong track record of deals in Shipping, Logistics, or related sectors.
Proven ability to lead transactions and manage investment teams through the full investment lifecycle.
Deep sector knowledge of global shipping, freight forwarding, port operations, or supply chain infrastructure.
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills.
Executive-level communication and presentation capabilities.
A relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline; MBA/CFA is a plus.
