A leading luxury home manufacturing company is seeking a highly experienced Director of Project Operations & Last-Mile Execution to lead the transformation of its delivery and installation operations into a scalable, process-driven, and high-performance execution engine.

As the company continues to grow, delivery and installation activities have evolved from managing individual projects to coordinating a complex network of parallel customer projects, field teams, delivery schedules, installation resources, and customer interactions. The business now manages approximately 20+ active customer projects daily across varying project sizes, installation durations, product categories, and site conditions.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience from operationally mature organizations specializing in high-volume last-mile operations, field services, large-scale installation programs, logistics execution, or retail delivery networks. The primary focus of this role is not technical installation expertise but rather the design, implementation, and optimization of operational systems, planning methodologies, workforce coordination processes, and execution frameworks that drive scalability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Transformation & Process Design

  • Design and implement scalable operational frameworks across delivery and installation functions.
  • Develop standardized workflows, operating procedures, planning methodologies, and execution protocols.
  • Establish operational governance structures that improve consistency and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable process improvements.

Multi-Project Operations Management

  • Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent customer projects across delivery and installation teams.
  • Develop resource planning models that optimize manpower, vehicles, installation crews, and support functions.
  • Create structured installation sequencing and scheduling methodologies.
  • Improve project visibility and operational forecasting across all active projects.
  • Reduce operational variability through disciplined planning and execution practices.

Last-Mile Delivery & Installation Excellence

  • Establish best practices for last-mile delivery and field installation operations.
  • Improve route planning, dispatch coordination, workforce deployment, and productivity.
  • Implement frameworks that reduce delays, missed appointments, revisits, and execution inefficiencies.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between logistics, warehousing, project teams, installation crews, suppliers, and customers.

Operational Control Tower & Performance Management

  • Develop operational dashboards, reporting structures, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Introduce KPI-driven management practices focused on service quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Create real-time visibility across project status, workforce utilization, scheduling performance, and operational capacity.
  • Lead operational reviews and performance improvement initiatives.

Workforce Planning & Utilization

  • Optimize workforce allocation across multiple active projects and workstreams.
  • Introduce workforce capacity planning and productivity measurement systems.
  • Improve field resource utilization while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Build scalable operational structures to support future business growth.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Sales, Design, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams.

Customer Experience & Service Delivery

  • Improve customer communication throughout delivery and installation journeys.
  • Drive SLA-based execution and service-level performance.
  • Implement systems that increase transparency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Reduce customer complaints through improved operational planning and execution.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years in furniture design/manufacturing/operations
  • 4+ years in a managerial role
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Professional exposure to European companies or geographies
