We’re partnering with a leading global strategic advisory firm to appoint a Director – Gaming / Esports Communications, a pivotal hire to build and scale their offering in one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic sectors globally.
This is a unique opportunity for a sector specialist to shape the firm’s presence in gaming and esports, working at the intersection of communications, culture, and commercial strategy.
The Role
As a senior leader, you will drive the development of the firm’s gaming and esports communications proposition — leading strategic work, advising high-profile clients, and playing a key role in winning and shaping new business in this space.
You’ll bring a deep understanding of the gaming ecosystem, from publishers and platforms to teams, tournaments, and talent — and know how to translate that into impactful communications strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a gaming & esports communications practice
- Advise clients on strategic communications, positioning, and reputation within the gaming ecosystem
- Build and deliver integrated comms strategies across PR, digital, and content
- Identify and convert new business opportunities within gaming and esports
- Act as a senior client advisor, managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Collaborate with global teams to bring best-in-class thinking to clients
- Stay ahead of industry trends, cultural shifts, and emerging platforms
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in communications within gaming and/or esports
- Proven experience leading strategy and client advisory
- Deep understanding of the gaming ecosystem, audiences, and culture
- Track record in business development and shaping client opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills
- Experience within an agency, consultancy, or in-house communications role
