We are seeking a full-time Project Planning Engineer based in Jebel Ali, UAE. The Project Planning Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Project Controls Manager (PCM) during the construction of a state-of-the-art recycling plant.
About You:
The successful candidate will develop and maintain detailed project schedules to Level 4 using Primavera P6, coordinate with stakeholders, monitor progress, and ensure the project meets its milestones. This role demands expertise in industrial construction and heavy machinery installation. The Project Planning Engineer will utilize their expertise in engineering, project planning and management to contribute to the efficient and effective implementation of the project and will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and play a key role in delivering a critical infrastructure project for the region.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop, manage, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 to Level 4 detail, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
Collaborate with and support the Project Controls Manager and other stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and feasibility.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and input for schedule development and updates.
Conduct regular project progress assessments, identifying risks, delays, or resource bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
Track and analyze project performance metrics, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and budgets.
Provide detailed progress reports, including critical path analysis, to project stakeholders.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and machinery required for project activities.
Maintain accurate documentation of project schedules, reports, and correspondence, ensuring accessibility and transparency for all project stakeholders.
Support risk assessments and assist in implementing mitigation strategies to safeguard project objectives.
Liaise with contractors and site teams to monitor on-ground progress and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 to Level 4 detail.
Project Management (PMP, Prince II) certification desirable.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, specifically on industrial construction projects and heavy machinery installation.
Familiarity with UAE construction standards and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
