- responsible for the structural design, analysis, detailing, and engineering of steel structures. - Design and analyze structural steel elements, including beams, columns, trusses, frames, platforms, stairs, and connections.
- Prepare structural calculations, design reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform structural analysis using software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer, or equivalent.
- Design steel connections using appropriate design methods and software.
- Review structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings for compliance with design requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, civil/structural engineers, MEP teams, fabricators, and site teams.
- Select appropriate steel sections and grades based on strength, serviceability, stability, and cost.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as AISC, Eurocode, BS, ASCE, or applicable local codes.
- Check fabrication and erection requirements and provide technical solutions to site/fabrication issues.
- Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and structural inspections when required.
- Prepare material take-offs and assist with estimating steel quantities.
- Support project teams during fabrication, erection, and commissioning.
- Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with company QA/QC procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically 2–7 years of experience in structural steel design, depending on the position level.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles and connection design.
- Proficiency in relevant structural analysis and design software.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and steel fabrication/detailing processes.
- Knowledge of international structural design codes and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Tekla Structures/Tekla Structural Designer, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Experience in industrial buildings, warehouses, commercial buildings, pipe racks, platforms, or other steel structures.
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and erection practices.
- Knowledge of BIM and coordination workflows.
- Professional engineering certification or chartership is an advantage.
