JobPurpose:
The Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for formulating and implementing strategic merchandise strategies to optimize inventory, achieve sales objectives, and elevate overall retail effectiveness. He/she oversees demand forecasting, assortment planning, and works collaboratively withcross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Analyze historical sales records and market patterns to forecast demand and develop effective merchandise strategies.
Implement strategies to increase sales and reduce excess inventory.
Collaborate withmerchandisingteams to develop well-balanced product assortments that align with customer preferences and achieve business objectives.
Ensure that merchandise plans align with overarching product and brand strategies.
Oversee inventory strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and mitigate under-stocking or overstocking scenarios.
Adjust inventory levels based onsales performanceand market dynamics to optimize stock availability.
Devise and implement seasonal merchandise strategies, considering seasonal shifts and customer preferences.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate product launches.
Deploy allocation tactics to effectively distribute merchandise across stores and channels.
Maintain product availability and meet customer demand consistently.
Generate and evaluate reports on sales, inventory status, and key performance metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize planning and inventory strategies.
Collaborate closely with purchasing, marketing, andstore operationsteams to align planning strategies with overarching business objectives.
Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to foster a cohesive approach to merchandise planning.
Qualifications:
Fluency in English;
Arabic is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a relevant field.
Two to four years of experience in retail allocation or a similar role.
Experience withinventory managementsystems is a plus.
