Job Role– Database/System Administrator
Experience– 2–3 years of experience in Database Administration and System Infrastructure.
Key requirements– The candidate should possess hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, and/or MongoDB, along with a solid understanding of Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
We are seeking a proactive System Engineer (L2) with strong expertise in Database Administration and working knowledge of Server Infrastructure and Virtualization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, administration, monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance optimization of enterprise databases, while also supporting the underlying server infrastructure hosting these databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Administration
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, and MongoDB environments.
- Perform database creation, configuration, migration, and upgrades.
- Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
- Perform database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery activities.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations.
- Monitor database storage utilization and capacity planning.
- Configure database security, user roles, permissions, and access control.
- Support database replication, high availability, and failover configurations where applicable.
- Perform routine database maintenance, patching, and health checks.
- Coordinate with application teams during deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of database-related issues.
- Maintain database documentation, backup schedules, and operational procedures.
- System Infrastructure (Secondary Responsibility)
- Install and configure Windows Server operating systems.
- Support VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machine provisioning.
- Monitor server CPU, memory, storage, and operating system performance.
- Perform server patching and firmware updates.
- Assist with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
- Support storage allocation and SAN/NAS connectivity for database servers.
- Assist in troubleshooting server and virtualization issues affecting database services.
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in Database Administration and System Infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle Database, or MongoDB.
- Experience in Windows Server administration and VMware environments.
- Experience in enterprise backup and recovery procedures.
Preferred Certifications
Database
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
- Oracle Database Administration Certified Associate (Oracle DBA OCA)
- Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional (OCP) (Preferred)
- MongoDB Certified Database Administrator Associate
System Infrastructure
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Server+
- ITIL® 4 Foundation
Pay: AED4,000.00 – AED5,000.00 per month
