Data Scientist (AMI)
JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for leading advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling initiatives using AMI data. The role supports strategic and operational decision-making, system optimization, and performance enhancement within the utility environment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, develops, and deploys predictive and prescriptive analytics models leveraging AMI data.
- Builds algorithms to identify consumption patterns, anomalies, losses, and system inefficiencies.
- Applies advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to support AMI performance teams.
- Proactively identifies data integrity, performance, and system risks and recommends preventive actions.
- Translates complex analytical results into actionable business and operational insights.
- Supports deployment of models into production environments and ML Ops workflows.
- Mentors analysts and engineers on advanced analytics methodologies.
- Ensures best practices in data governance, model validation, and ethical AI usage.
- Supports strategic initiatives related to smart grids and digital transformation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by senior management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Qualifications / Certifications
PhD in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related field; or Master’s degree with
strong research background.
Certified in advanced data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence , with demonstrated research or professional experience in predictive/prescriptive analytics and ML model deployment (MLOps).
Experience
Minimum 13+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics, preferably in utilities or energy sector.
Key Skills
- Advanced machine learning, statistical modeling, and data architecture skills.
- Strong programming proficiency (Python, Java).
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end analytics solutions in production environments.
- Written and Spoken English is essential; Arabic is preferred.
