Data Analyst-Transformation Office Campus Jobs in Dubai, UAE at Zayed University
The responsibility of a Data Analyst is to analyze, synthesize data into meaningful insights and use data to create predictive models using machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical analysis. The findings have to be communicated effectively to aid in critical decisions. A Data Analyst must work closely with the stakeholders to identify issues and propose data-driven solutions that help to achieve the objectives of the university.
Job-Specific Responsibilities Work with the stakeholders to identify opportunities and needs to deliver and propose solutions for effective decision making Perform data mining and analyze data from different information systems to discover the trends and patterns in data Use machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to create actionable plans and provide solutions to the challenges Produce executive reports for the relevant stakeholders with clear recommendations and insights Use predictive modelling and not limited to improve student performance and retention, identify at-risk students and the predicted outcome for the student;
predict future rankings of the university and assess the area for scope of improvement Basic Qualifications Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related discipline Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist/Statistician, or in a similar role Technical Skills Proficiency with different machine learning algorithms, advanced analytics and data mining techniques.
Strong understanding in mathematics and statistics Working knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python and database query languages such as SQL using Oracle, SQL Server and SQL query tools like TOAD, SQL Developer Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS; advanced knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (regression, statistical tests, distributions etc.) and experience in statistical analysis Ability to interpret and assess data, analyze trends and forecasting using regression and other methods of statistical modelling Strong report writing skills and the ability to translate technical content into an understandable and compelling report Knowledge of data warehouse solutions and data lake
Experience with
data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau
Experience with
cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure Additional Experience and Skills Excellent oral and written
