Position: Cybersecurity Technician (ICS – Industrial Control System)
We are looking for an experienced ICS Cybersecurity Technician to support OT/ICS cybersecurity activities within an Oil & Gas or Chemical manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role with regular fieldwork in a 24×7 industrial plant environment.
Job Purpose
The role will be responsible for supporting preventive and corrective maintenance of OT cybersecurity assets, performing patching and antivirus updates, collecting backups, supporting recovery activities, and carrying out field-level ICSkcybersecurity tasks for DCS, SIS, and other OT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance for OT cybersecurity assets.
- Carry out patch updates and antivirus updates for installed OT assets.
- Collect backups and support the recovery process for DCS, SIS, ICSkcybersecurity, and other OT assets.
- Collect ICSkcybersecurity field asset data for DCS and non-DCS systems related to projects.
- Conduct field checks, confirm mark-ups, and support as-built documentation.
- Carry out ICSkcybersecurity field activities, including cabinet lock maintenance, cable troubleshooting, cable removal, new cable laying, and field housekeeping.
- Support installation and replacement of DCS, SIS, and ICSkcybersecurity assets.
- Prepare spare parts and project materials for DCS, SIS, and ICSkcybersecurity activities.
- Label, print, and attach network cable labels for OT cybersecurity assets.
- Support power cable laying and installation in PPC, DCS, SIS, and ICSkcybersecurity cabinets.
- Lay communication cables for new KVMs and arrange monitors and workstations.
- Verify and collect as-built nameplate data for installed OT assets.
- Prepare and receive PTW for all field-related activities.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for non-DCS assets and perform cybersecurity PM tasks such as antivirus installation, physical hardening, and Windows patching.
- Support physical asset hardening, including USB locks and access control validation.
- Carry out daily PM tasks related to ICSkcybersecurity fieldwork and support field asset log collection.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate degree or 3-year diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechatronics, Cybersecurity, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Oil & Gas or Chemical facilities with focus on ICSkcybersecurity.
- 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with OT assets, DCS, SIS, ICSkcybersecurity systems, fieldwork, patching, antivirus updates, backup support, and asset hardening.
- CCNA or Network+ certification is preferred.
- CEH, Security+, or CySA+ certification is preferred.
- At least one cybersecurity certification is desirable.
- Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in an industrial 24×7 plant environment with considerable field activities.
