Overview Of The RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and friendly individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative for our play area. He/ she will assist in customer service function which, in Smaland, IKEA, is ‘Playroom’ in a friendly and professional manner.

What You Will DoCustomers

Greets and welcomes customers on arrival at Smaland.

Ensure the Smaland admission policy is explained in a friendly and professional manner.

Ensure the Childs safety is their main priority while they are in Smaland

Makes announcements and pages the customers (parents) if there is any issue with the children in the playroom area.

Handles routine customer complaint promptly and courteously.

Provides a safe environment for children within the area.

Operational

Ensure all system procedures are adhering to as per policy / procedure

Briefs the Duty Manager on complaints that require management assistance.

Ensure all emergency procedures are adhered to.

Required Skills To Be Successful

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

High School

A genuine interest in working with children and creating positive experiences for families.

Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

First Aid qualification as per relevant country is preferred

Job-Specific/Technical Skills required to complete the tasks:

Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with both children and adults is crucial.

Interpersonal Skills: Being friendly, approachable, and patient is essential when interacting with customers.

Ability to stand for long periods, walk around the play area, and occasionally lift or move objects, so physical fitness and stamina are beneficial. Local qualification in Child Care as per relevant country is preferred

Problem-Solving Skills: Quick thinking and the ability to resolve issues efficiently, whether it’s addressing customer complaints or handling unexpected situations in the play area.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring the play area remains safe and clean requires attention to detail. This includes monitoring equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and adhering to safety protocols.

Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as play areas often experience peak traffic during these times.
