Job Purpose / Role:

To guide the accurate and effective evaluation of loans application for the assigned segment so as to assess the credibility, calculate the credit limits and define the collaterals required, so as to protect the Bank from potential credit risks/losses and maintain a healthy loan portfolio basket with minimal infected loans.

Areas Of Responsibility:

  • Policies, Processes & Procedures

Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and suggests improvements while provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

  • Day- to-day operations

Implements the day-to-day processes assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures at the highest level.

  • Credit Review

Supports the execution of the credit evaluations providing guidance for the accurate review of applications from the Credit Analysts and the implementation of appropriate remedial measures to avoid any potential deterioration of credit and safeguard the bank interests.

Reviews the rational, evidence and judgement used by the Credit Review Analysts of the assigned segment in the evaluation of the applications, so as to assess the quality of the credit reviews and to reveal areas of improvement training to enhance the quality of credit.

Reviews and proceeds to the accurate and effective calculation of credit limits, quality of assets, price structuring and required collaterals for the approval of the application, in order to support the creation of a healthy well-diversified clientele’ regional/area portfolio book.

Reviews and analyses the credit proposals for corporate financing with regards to quality of assets, price structuring and collateralization according to the credit limits of the Bank.

Ensures that all required supporting documents for the validation and credit approval of the loan application are available, so as to comply with credit policies and procedures.

Assists the Relationship Managers in structuring credit facilities suitable for their customers’ financing needs within bank’s risk appetite and tolerance level.

Monitors the credit portfolio of the assigned region/area and checks for any unusual activities/movements that would increase the credit risk, so as to inform all relevant parties and propose mitigation initiatives.

Participates with relationship managers/other officers in solving certain customer’s issues regarding their facilities structuring required terms, conditions and collaterals.

Provides presentations of credit applications submitted to respective Credit Approval Authorities Committees accurately on timely manner.

Monitors the changes in the regulations and standards set by SAMA and proposes changes in the credit review process to achieve compliance without any exception.

Evaluates and updates the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) related to their segments.

  • Fraud Prevention

Implement and maintain appropriate fraud prevention processes and procedures and ensure that all employees are aware of their fraud prevention responsibilities so that RB meets proper statutory/legislative requirements and safeguards customer interests.

  • Continuous Improvement

Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement cutting turnaround time.

  • Reporting

Prepares departmental reports of Riyad Bank timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Contributes in report improvement and identify new reports that provide certain information on timely manner to the higher management.

  • Committees & Meetings

Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per Authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient/accurate manner.

  • Safety, Quality & Environment

Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.

  • Related Assignments

Performs other related duties or assignments as directed by the superiors.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or any other relevant field appropriate for the job.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant practical experience in credit review field.
