Position: Crane Mechanic Level A
JOB PURPOSE
Conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all cranes QCs & RTGs in the most efficient and effective manner, ensuring that jobs are completed quickly and cost-effectively while adhering to quality andsafety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out the below duties without direct supervision.
Perform assigned jobs safely, satisfactorily, accurately, and cost-effectively.
Conduct mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and monitoring of the QCs & RTGs and other related equipment, executing tasks assigned by the Engineer & Foreman.
Conduct all preventive & corrective maintenance activities of the QCs & RTGs and other related equipment meticulously, ensuring all items in the checklist are completed within stipulated times.
Ensure that all preventive & corrective maintenance (mechanical) is conducted as defined in the system.
Independently attend to breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on an immediate basis.
Provide accurate,up-to-dateinformation in the work order for input into the system.
Generate work orders (in coordination with theoptimizationteam) for all mechanical work performed on the cranes.
Submit correct information about the start time and end time of maintenance activities.
Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults.
Follow up on emergency work by reporting to the Foreman.
Ensure work practices conform to safety regulations and procedures.
Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which the team is responsible.
Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required.
Ensure safety principles are followed and report accidents and ‘near misses’ according to defined safety procedures.
Maintain constantcommunicationwith engineers to ensure effective crane workshop operations.
Ensure maximum operational availability of all engineering machines/equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods.
Maintain safety and discipline in the work area.
Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work Practices, and HSE policy.
Skills:
Experience in container terminals and Quay cranes & RTGs (Mandatory: 3 to 4 years).
Detailed knowledge of a wide range of heavy mechanical engineering equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes, etc.
Knowledge about lifting chains and wire ropes.
Conversant with technical/parts manuals and drawings.
Fully conversant with safety procedures.
Goodcommunication skills.
Teamwork.
Education:
Preferable:
Diploma/B-Tech/B.E. in mechanical engineering.
