Job Title: Costing & Budget Controller.

Role Purpose: The Costing & Budget Controller is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project budgets and costs to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with project objectives. The role adds business value by enabling data-driven decision-making, enhancing cost transparency, and optimizing resource allocation to improve overall project performance and financial outcomes.

Key Activities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets aligned with scope and cost estimates
  • Validate cost assumptions and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Update budget forecasts based on project progress and financial performance
  • Monitor actual costs against approved budgets and identify variances
  • Analyze cost performance and determine root causes of deviations
  • Implement cost control measures and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare accurate and timely cost and budget reports
  • Deliver variance analysis and financial insights to support decision-making
  • Ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency of financial data
  • Maintain cost control systems and ensure data integrity across tools
  • Enhance reporting efficiency through system improvements and automation
  • Support digital transformation initiatives and automation of cost reporting processes
  • Coordinate with IT teams for system updates and enhancements
  • Collaborate with project, procurement, and finance teams on cost-related matters
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation activities
  • Provide cost insights during project reviews and performance discussions

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in cost control, budgeting, or project finance
  • Strong understanding of construction cost structures and project lifecycle
  • Industry experience in EPC, construction projects, or similar sectors is required
  • Experience in budget preparation, cost tracking, and variance analysis

Education and Certification Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field

Preferred: PMP (Project Management Professional), Cost Control / Project Control certifications

Job Specific Technical Skills:

  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of cost control tools and reporting systems
  • Ability to perform variance analysis and forecasting
  • Proficiency in Power BI and dashboard development for reporting and data visualization
