About the Role
MASAH Construction is looking for a Cost Control Engineer with solid experience in the construction industry and a strong background in project cost monitoring and control.
This role is strictly for a true Cost Control / Cost Engineer profile focused on budget tracking, cost reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and project cost performance.
This is not an Estimation, Tendering, Pricing, or Quantity Surveying role.
Candidates whose primary experience is in bidding, estimation, or BOQ preparation without hands-on project cost control exposure may not be suitable for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track project expenses, including collection, verification, and follow-up of cost data.
- Prepare detailed cost control reports covering:
- Direct costs
- Indirect costs
- Productivity metrics
- Actual project expenditures
- Prepare monthly cost reports comparing actual spending against approved budgets and allocated cost items, aligned with project progress.
- Forecast the remaining cost required to complete each project and identify final projected cost.
- Analyze and explain variances between actual cost and budget.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, including invoices, contracts, change orders, and supporting documents.
- Work closely with project teams and management to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve cost efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in Cost Control / Cost Engineering within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of:
- Construction cost structures
- Budget control
- Cost reporting
- Forecasting
- Financial tracking for projects
- Good practical experience in ERP systems, Advanced Excel, and Power BI.
- Ability to link cost performance with actual project progress and site execution.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
