Job Summary:
We are looking for a Cost & Commercial Quantity Surveyor to handle all post-contract commercial, cost control, and contract management activities. The role focuses on ensuring project profitability, accurate cost tracking, billing, and effective claims management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: Cost Control & Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Track actual costs vs. budget and highlight variances
- Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks
Billing & Payment Applications
- Prepare and submit IPC / Interim Payment Applications
- Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of works
- Follow up with client/consultant for approvals and certification
- Track payment status and resolve discrepancies
Variations & Claims Management
- Prepare and submit variation claims with full supporting documents
- Maintain variation and claims registers
- Handle Extension of Time (EOT) claims
- Evaluate subcontractor claims and variations
Contract Administration
- Review contracts, BOQ, and project specifications
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms (FIDIC preferred)
- Identify risks, delays, and contractual obligations
- Support dispute resolution and negotiations
Coordination & Commercial Meetings
- Coordinate with site, planning, procurement, and finance teams
- Attend client/consultant meetings for commercial discussions
- Provide commercial inputs for project decision-making
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of BOQ, invoices, WIR/MIR logs, approvals, and correspondences
- Ensure all commercial documentation is properly tracked and filed
- Prepare dashboards and reports for management review
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in post-contract commercial & cost control roles
- Strong experience in:
- Cost control & budgeting
- IPC / billing / certification
- Variations, claims & EOT
- Contract administration
- Experience in steel structure / PEB / construction projects
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel & ERP systems
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
