Control Field Specialist

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide on‑site technical direction on control system installation, including loop checks, system tests during start‑up, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance on customer‑owned sites in oilfield, power generation and industrial facilities.
  • Supervise the positioning and wiring of control panels such as Unit Control Panel (UCP), auxiliary panels, Direct Current Panel (DCP), battery charger and battery cells, Generator Control & Protection Panel (GCPP), Motor Control Center (MCC), etc., ensuring electrical, pneumatic, primary, and field wiring are correct.
  • Check the functionality of control sequencing for all auxiliary systems relevant to turbine and driven equipment, including lube oil, hydraulic oil, oil coolers, starter systems, enclosure and building ventilation, fire & gas detection, compressor seal oil, compressor dry‑gas seal, process gas coolers, fuel and process gas valves, anti‑surge system, etc.
  • Lead installation, maintenance, commissioning site activities with strict adherence to quality and HSE rules.
  • Utilize problem‑solving skills, engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions during turbo machinery commissioning, start‑up, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide routine maintenance checkout for Gas Turbines (Frame 52 and Frame
    6) and BH/NP Centrifugal compressors (BCL, 2 BCL, MCL).
  • Prepare job‑planning documents based on the scope of work (installation, upgrade, outage).
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor, maintaining a strong safety mindset.
  • Support daily outage and weekly installation reports and communicate progress to service/installation/project managers.
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future field service references.
  • Apply all quality procedures and documentation, ensuring Site Quality Check List/Job Cards/Field Procedure are followed and properly signed.
  • Address all non‑conformities using Baker Hughes e‑tools and follow up until resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with local/current legislation, Safety Manual, and other relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant field experience in Oil & Gas or Energy Sector.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands‑on expertise on HDGT (Frame 5/2, 6B) and BH/NP Centrifugal compressors (BCL, 2 BCL, MCL) instrumentation, control logic, and auxiliaries.
  • High expertise in Mark Vi and Mark V control panels.
  • Knowledge of PLC control panels.
  • Experience with DLN (Dry Low NOx) systems mapping.
  • Fit to work onshore, offshore, and in remote areas.
  • Fluent English language skills (speaking and writing).
  • Strong customer‑service orientation and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Proven analytical and quality‑improvement skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental mindset and compliance.
  • Extensive travel commitment (not less than 70% of time, including offshore).
