Job Summary
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of a high-rise construction project, ensuring that contracts are effectively administered, risks are minimized, and commercial objectives are achieved. The role requires strong expertise in UAE construction laws, FIDIC contracts, and high-value project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts from tendering, award, administration, to close-out.
- Review, draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and project specifications.
- Identify contractual risks and provide mitigation strategies to protect company interests.
- Lead the preparation and evaluation of claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution.
- Provide contractual advice to project teams, management, and stakeholders.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance in line with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with legal advisors on disputes, arbitration, or litigation matters if required.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all contractual communications.
- Support procurement and commercial teams during tendering and bid evaluation stages.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide contractual input on project status.
- Ensure adherence to UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in contracts management within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in high-rise building projects in the UAE or GCC region.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and UAE construction laws.
- Experience handling complex claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent are an advantage.
