Consultant Neurocritical Care – Abu Dhabi

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant in Neurocritical Care to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized care to critically ill patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions in a multidisciplinary intensive care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurocritical care to patients with life-threatening neurological conditions.
• Manage patients with acute stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, and other neurological emergencies.
• Assess and manage critically ill patients requiring advanced neurological monitoring and intensive care.
• Participate in the management of post-neurosurgical and neurotrauma patients.
• Perform and interpret neurological assessments and relevant diagnostic investigations.
• Manage airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, intracranial pressure, and cerebral perfusion in critically ill neurological patients.
• Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, radiologists, and rehabilitation specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical rounds, and emergency response.
• Support evidence-based protocols for stroke, neurotrauma, intracranial hypertension, and critical neurological disorders.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and research activities.

Requirements

• 
  MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized specialist/consultant qualification in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Critical Care, or Neurocritical Care.
• Additional fellowship or formal training in Neurocritical Care is highly desirable.
• Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain one.
• Significant post-specialization experience managing critically ill neurological patients.
• Strong knowledge of advanced neuro-monitoring and critical care practices.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Expertise

Experience in acute stroke and neurovascular emergencies, traumatic brain injury, intracranial pressure management, EEG/continuous EEG, cerebral monitoring, mechanical ventilation, neuroprognostication, and post-neurosurgical critical care will be advantageous.
