About the Role

The Controls & Governance Consultant will serve as the first line of control within the cards function—ensuring operational discipline, compliance, and accuracy across card products and related activities. Acting as a trusted partner to leadership, this role safeguards processes, validates partner deliverables, and maintains the integrity of customer‑facing information and internal documentation. Success requires persistence, attention to detail, and strong stakeholder influence.

Key Responsibilities

Controls & Oversight

  • Act as the internal accountability point for governance within the cards team.
  • Review partner/vendor reports to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and operational standards.
  • Monitor contractual timelines, flagging expirations and escalating renewals/closures.
  • Oversee telesales scripts and operations for accuracy and consistency with product documentation.
  • Ensure customer‑facing channels (websites, apps) present accurate and up‑to‑date card product information.

Documentation & Process Integrity

  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for card business functions.
  • Audit marketing/product collateral to prevent outdated or conflicting content.
  • Review contracts, agreements, and business cases before escalation to leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement & Support

  • Support the Head of Cards in governance and oversight activities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, operations, telesales, and vendors to align practices with compliance requirements.
  • Persuasively influence stakeholders to enforce standards, drive corrective actions, and close gaps.

Candidate Profile

  • Languages: English & Arabic (mandatory).
  • Experience: 8–10 years in governance, compliance, and documentation management—preferably in financial services or payment products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach.
  • Strong ability to review and interpret contracts, partner agreements, and reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with proven persuasive influence.
  • Persistent, proactive personality with the ability to balance control responsibilities and strong working relationships.
  • Comfortable working within card product teams and supporting senior leadership directly.
