Job Summary
The Compliance Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's compliance framework to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role promotes a culture of integrity, ethical conduct, and risk awareness while supporting the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the organization's compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards and ensure timely implementation of necessary updates.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Lead internal compliance reviews, investigations, and audits.
- Guide management and employees on regulatory and ethical requirements.
- Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs.
- Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Finance, and other departments to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Manage whistleblowing and ethics programs and oversee the resolution of compliance issues.
- Prepare periodic reports and present compliance updates, risks, and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
- Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping related to compliance activities.
- Oversee third-party compliance due diligence and vendor compliance processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, internal audit, legal, or governance, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Professional certifications such as CCEP, CRCM, CAMS, CIA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
