A Commis Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while consistently contributing to departmental targets.
What will I be doing?
As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring all mis-en-place is prepared, and contributing to departmental targets. Your tasks will include:
Ensuring consistent great food production in line with Hilton standards
Performing tasks efficiently and timely
Contributing to kitchen revenue through effective food cost control
Supporting the kitchen brigade
Preparing and presenting dishes within company guidelines
Maintaining cleanliness and preventing cross-contamination
Preparing all mis-en-place for relevant menus
Assisting other departments and maintaining good relationships
Reporting maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues
Complying with security, fire, health, safety, and food safety regulations
Striving to meet departmental targets as part of the team
Adhering to health and hygiene standards
Being environmentally conscious
What are we looking for?
To succeed as a Hilton Commis Chef, you should demonstrate the following:
Previous experience as a Commis or Apprentice Chef
Ability to work under pressure
Teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions
A passion for learning and a drive to succeed in culinary/hospitality
Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course
A passion for food and culinary arts
Completion of an accredited cookery course or trade apprenticeship
Experience in multitasking within a high-standard environment
Preferred additional capabilities include:
Strong communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability
