The Role

As Cluster Paymaster, you’ll lead the payroll function across multiple hotels and resorts, ensuring

every team member—from front desk to executive office—is paid accurately and on time. You’ll

make sure payroll processes are compliant with local laws and internal standards, while also being

smooth, secure, and supportive of our people-first culture. This role combines operational detail

with strategic oversight and collaboration across HR, Finance, and Legal teams.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Payroll Operations

  • Manage payroll across various international locations and employee types, including fulltime, part-time, seasonal, and expatriate staff.
  • Process payroll in multiple currencies, handling unique hospitality elements like service charges and tip pooling.
  • Ensure correct tax deductions and statutory filings in each country, staying ahead of legal deadlines.
  • Handle complex situations such as expat pay, gratuities, and retroactive corrections

Compliance & Audit

  • Stay informed on labor laws and payroll regulations across key regions.
  • Conduct regular checks to maintain compliance and ensure records are aligned with HR systems.
  • Support Legal in managing any payroll-related concerns or official investigations.

Systems & Automation

  • Oversee payroll software systems and integrate them with HR and timekeeping tools.
  • Drive automation to reduce manual tasks and minimize errors.
  • Implement safeguards to catch inconsistencies or misclassifications before processing.

Team Support & Training

  • Train on-property payroll teams in systems, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide a streamlined self-service platform for employees to access payslips, tax documents, and more.
  • Coordinate emergency backup plans for uninterrupted payroll during system or external disruptions.

Strategic Input

  • Work closely with HR and recruitment to assess payroll implications when expanding into new countries or opening new properties.
  • Assist with payroll integration and planning during acquisitions or property launches.
  • Provide data and recommendations for compensation planning and budgeting.

Reporting & Insights

  • Share clear, concise reporting on labor costs, overtime patterns, and payroll trends.
  • Use data to identify opportunities for cost efficiency and workforce planning.
  • Support company-wide reporting goals related to pay equity, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Key Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified in payroll or accounting (such as CPP or CPA)
  • Solid background in payroll operations, particularly in hospitality or multi-country environments.
  • Proficiency with major payroll platforms and ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of hospitality-specific payroll needs.
  • Excellent data skills, including spreadsheet and reporting tools.
  • Comfortable navigating international payroll laws and best practices.
