Position: CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST
Job Description
This role involves the development, implementation, adoption, optimization, training, and management of eHealth national solutions. The candidate will support the enhancement of clinical practice using clinical systems by partnering with Information Systems to analyze, design, develop, and implement informatics tools and technology supporting patient care activities. They will analyze current clinical and business processes and workflows to ensure that information systems meet professional standards, regulations, and support management strategies.
Evaluate informatics solutions to ensure they meet quality, efficiency, and effectiveness standards, applying comprehensive testing methodologies to all Clinical Informatics interventions.
Identify data issues and risks related to Clinical Informatics activities, providing higher-level analysis and feedback, and communicating findings to stakeholders, interdisciplinary teams, and governance bodies.
Serve as a champion and support training of healthcare provider trainers.
Assess content implementation strategies and their impact on workflow and operations.
Document workflows that are impacted by clinical documentation, both current and future state.
Understand content and functionality impacts on practice workflow.
Contribute to policy and procedure development related to orders and clinical documentation applications.
Lead large-scale technology projects ensuring alignment with overall objectives.
Utilize analytical models to identify and evaluate approaches and solutions to information needs.
Create business plans including requirements, alternatives, costs, ROI, and implementation plans.
Participate in strategic planning and help establish priorities considering budget and resources.
Interpret legislation, trends, and standards to apply emerging standards to organizational practices.
Act as a contact point for questions and issues related to clinical informatics, troubleshooting promptly.

Experience and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in clinical or paramedical fields is required.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in supervisory roles.
Experience in implementing and supporting clinical systems such as EMR, LIS, pharmacy, and radiology systems.
Knowledge of national health information exchange, electronic prescribing, pharmaceutical supply chain management, and disease condition management is beneficial.
Experience in conducting system assessments and audits, recommending improvements.
Experience providing ongoing support and guidance to clinical staff on clinical systems and applications, including working with vendors for implementation and integration.
