Job Summary

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the assigned Client facilities, including offices, accommodation areas, dining halls, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas. The role requires adherence to Client HSE standards, company policies, and hygiene procedures to ensure a healthy and professional working environment.

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning

  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas according to the approved cleaning schedule.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
  • Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other surfaces.
  • Clean windows, doors, partitions, and glass surfaces.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.

Restroom Cleaning

  • Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, wash basins, mirrors, and showers.
  • Replenish soap, tissue paper, hand towels, and other hygiene supplies.
  • Ensure restrooms remain clean, odor-free, and fully stocked throughout the day.
  • Report any maintenance issues such as leaks, damaged fixtures, or blocked drains.

Dining Hall & Kitchen Support

  • Clean dining halls before, during, and after meal service.
  • Sanitize tables, chairs, serving counters, and food service areas.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchens, pantries, and storage areas as directed.
  • Dispose of food waste following food safety and environmental procedures.

Accommodation & Office Cleaning

  • Clean offices, meeting rooms, corridors, stairways, and reception areas.
  • Clean accommodation rooms and common areas as scheduled.
  • Empty waste bins and replace liners.
  • Arrange furniture and maintain the cleanliness of workspaces.

Waste Management

  • Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste according to company and Client environmental procedures.
  • Handle general, recyclable, and food waste appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of waste collection and disposal areas.

Equipment & Chemical Handling

  • Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
  • Prepare and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Store cleaning materials and equipment securely after use.
  • Report damaged equipment or shortages of cleaning supplies.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and site regulations.
  • Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Follow safe work practices and report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
  • Participate in mandatory HSE and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards to prevent slips, trips, and falls.

Quality & Hygiene

  • Follow company cleaning procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure all work meets hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Prevent cross-contamination by using color-coded cleaning equipment where applicable.
  • Support pest control measures by maintaining clean work areas.

Teamwork

  • Work effectively with supervisors and other cleaning staff.
  • Assist colleagues during peak workloads or special cleaning activities.
  • Support special events and deep-cleaning programs as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and hygiene practices.
  • Training in housekeeping or cleaning operations is an advantage.
  • Can Speak English (Required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically fit to perform manual cleaning duties.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 20 kg when required.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as operationally required.
  • Ability to work in industrial and camp environments.

HSE & Compliance Requirements

  • Comply with all site rules and company policies.
  • Attend mandatory HSE and site induction training.
  • Use cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Wear the prescribed PPE while performing cleaning duties.
  • Follow environmental and waste management procedures.
