Civil Technician – Job Description
A Civil Technician supports civil engineers in the planning, construction, inspection, and maintenance of infrastructure and building projects. The role involves assisting with site supervision, ensuring work is carried out according to engineering drawings and specifications, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising civil construction activities on-site.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
- Measure quantities and prepare daily progress reports.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and construction crews.
- Support surveying and setting-out activities when required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and report construction issues and assist in resolving technical problems.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology.
- Relevant experience in civil construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and construction documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
