Responsibilities
Supervision Responsibilities
Plans and coordinates the activities and resources at the construction site to ensure effective coordination and supervision of construction/modification project works including excavation, back filling, dewatering, bar bending, farm works, concreting, and structural works.
Monitors quality and performance of works carried out by contractors/subcontractors. Attends to stage-wise RFI (Request For Inspection) calls and provides clearance of work. Reports project work progress and related issues including cost, performance, and concerns on work-in-hand.
Identifies and highlights technical and constructability issues and raises them with the Line Manager and contractors’ site supervisors, communicating with the main/primary contractor for action. Expedites resolution of contractor’s technical queries.
Liaises with Production and Maintenance Planning regarding the planning and coordination of construction and modification works, including plant shutdowns as required. Liaises with QAQC to ensure effective implementation of ITPs in all construction and plant improvements works.
Determines logistics and resource requirements. Expedites materials procurement as per schedules.
Participates in punch listing and ensures that punch-items are addressed in a satisfactory manner.
Administration Responsibilities
Oversees timely and effective execution of civil construction/plant modification works at Ras Laffan gas plant and facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, relevant policies and procedures, method statements, and project schedules.
Interfaces and coordinates closely with subcontractor teams to monitor effective progress of construction site activities. Prepares updates on weekly progress, resource requirements, material CRDs, drawings & documents availability, and schedule look-ahead, reporting any important issues such as deviations or delays.
Reviews construction and site work-related documentation including Method Statements, Work Instructions, and risk mitigation procedures. Participates in TRA sessions and provides input into construction completion dossiers.
Interfaces with contractors/subcontractors and site management team to ensure that the works are completed within the agreed timeframe and budget, and according to defined quality specifications. Participates in regular Site Progress Meetings with contractors to review progress and performance.
Liaises with companies and contractors’ pre-commissioning teams in providing construction assistance and comments on relevant documents as required.
Issues Non-Conformance Applications (NCA) for Line Manager’s acceptance & approval. Ensures strict implementation of Environmental, Safety and Fire regulations and full compliance with QHSE policies and procedures by main/primary contractors and subcontractors at all times. Coordinates with Production and QHSE when SIMOPS is involved during construction activities.
Technical Responsibilities
Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times, not taking on any tasks that are perceived to be unsafe.
Reports all incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or a QHSE representative. Knowledgeable and skilled to estimate building roof sheeting repair works & analyzer shelter repair works.
Requires a Diploma (3 years) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural).
