JOB DESCRIPTION
DESIGNATION: CIVIL QUANTITY SURVEYOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
EXPERIENCE:
6 to 10 years’ civil and building quantity survey experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with a demonstrated track record of successful construction bids.
In-depth technical knowledge of project execution methodology.
Proven working experience in Quantity Surveying, including preparation of Bill of Quantities, quantity calculations, and estimating the quantity and costs of materials, labor, and construction equipment.
Conduct site visits to ensure construction complies with the initial specifications and industry standards.
Knowledge of construction techniques on particular projects.
Familiarity with estimation/productivity norms for civil and building works.
Experience in estimating Maintenance/Turnaround/Shutdown/Brown Field Modification/Construction Projects.
Previous site experience in technical and supervisory capacities, preferably Gulf experience.
Strong understanding of construction materials and equipment is essential.
Commercial and contractual knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support in bid preparation, carry out site surveys, coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, subcontracts, and other discipline Engineers, sub-contractors, and vendors, liaise with clients, and attend bid clarification meetings.
Responsible for estimating, coordinating, and completing the bid preparation process prior to the review with the Head of Proposals.
Interpret technical documents, drawings, scope of work, and estimate resources required to carry out civil and building works at project sites.
COMPUTING SKILLS:
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Conversant with Primavera and MS Project is an added advantage.
