Civil Inspector – Site Jobs in Dubai at Arkiplan Consulting Architects & Engineers
We are seeking an experienced Civil Inspector to support the supervision and inspection of high-rise building and villa construction projects in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting civil and structural works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project requirements, and UAE regulations. The Civil Inspector will coordinate closely with the Resident Engineer, consultants, contractors, and other site supervision teams to ensure that construction works are executed safely, correctly, and in accordance with the approved project documents.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct daily inspections of civil and structural construction activities at site.
· Ensure all construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
· Inspect excavation, backfilling, earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, screed, tiling, and other civil works.
· Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete pouring, curing, and related structural works.
· Verify materials delivered to site are in accordance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
· Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of work.
· Raise inspection requests and verify completed works prior to approval.
· Monitor workmanship and identify defects, non-conforming works, and construction deficiencies.
· Follow up on corrective and preventive actions for identified site issues.
· Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved method statements and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
· Witness and monitor relevant testing activities, including concrete, soil, compaction, and other applicable civil tests.
· Maintain daily inspection records, checklists, site observations, and quality documentation.
· Assist the Resident Engineer and supervision team in monitoring project progress and quality.
· Coordinate with MEP and architectural teams to avoid interface and coordination issues.
· Review shop drawings and construction details from a site execution and inspection perspective.
· Monitor site works for compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
· Report any technical, quality, or construction-related issues to the Resident Engineer.
· Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing, snagging, and handover activities.
· Conduct snagging inspections and monitor rectification of outstanding works.
· Maintain proper documentation of inspections, approvals, site observations, and non-conformance reports.
· Support the supervision team in achieving project quality, schedule, and construction objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
· Minimum 07 years of overall experience in construction inspection and site supervision.
· Minimum 03 years of UAE experience in civil inspection and construction supervision, as consultant.
· Proven experience in high-rise building projects, and groups of villas.
· Strong experience in inspecting reinforced concrete and finishing works.
· Good knowledge of construction materials, workmanship, testing procedures, and quality control requirements.
· Strong knowledge of approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
· Experience in inspecting excavation, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, blockwork, waterproofing, plastering, screeding, tiling, and other civil works.
· Experience of various type of shoring works.
· Knowledge of UAE construction regulations, standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
· Ability to identify construction defects and ensure proper corrective actions.
· Experience working with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project supervision teams.
· Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and site inspection requirements.
· Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
· Knowledge of inspection and documentation systems/software is an advantage.
· Relevant UAE driving license is an advantage.
Pay: Up to AED9,000.00 per month
