Job Title:
Civil Engineer
Job Summary:
A Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing construction and infrastructure projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, utilities, and drainage systems. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities Design & Planning:
- Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and project requirements.
Construction Supervision:
- Supervise construction activities and monitor project progress.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Resolve technical issues arising during project execution.
Quality Control:
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct site inspections and quality audits.
- Review test reports and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Project Management:
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Prepare progress reports and project documentation.
- Assist in contract administration and variation management.
- Support procurement and material approval processes.
Health, Safety & Environment:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental requirements.
- Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Promote safe working practices on site.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of project planning tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
