The Civil Draughtsman is responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction layouts in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting & Design
- Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
- Develop shop drawings, construction drawings, as-built drawings, and reinforcement detailing.
- Modify and update drawings based on engineering comments and site requirements.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, local authority requirements, and industry standards.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and site teams regarding drawing requirements.
- Review consultant drawings and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
- Incorporate design changes and revisions as directed by the engineering team.
- Maintain proper drawing registers and document control procedures.
Site Support
- Prepare setting-out drawings, sections, elevations, profiles, and detailed construction drawings.
- Assist site teams in interpreting drawings and resolving technical drafting issues.
- Visit project sites when required to verify dimensions and collect as-built information.
Documentation
- Manage drawing revisions and ensure all updated drawings are issued to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain records of approved drawings and revisions.
- Prepare quantity take-off drawings and assist with project documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related discipline.
- Professional certification in AutoCAD or related drafting software is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a Civil Draughtsman.
- Experience in building, infrastructure, marine, industrial, or commercial projects.
- GCC/UAE experience preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D.
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or BIM software is an advantage.
- Understanding of construction methodologies and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with structural detailing and reinforcement drawings.
- Knowledge of local authority standards and construction regulations.
Soft Skills

Key Responsibilities for Marine Civil Projects (Preferred)
- Preparation of jetty, quay wall, breakwater, revetment, piling, and marine structure drawings.
- Preparation of marine concrete and precast element shop drawings.
- Coordination with survey and construction teams for marine works execution.
- Preparation of as-built drawings for marine infrastructure projects.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of drawings and revisions.
- Timely submission of shop and as-built drawings.
- Compliance with project and client requirements.
- Effective coordination with engineering and site teams.
- Maintenance of drawing quality and document control standards.
Pay: AED3,500.00 – AED5,000.00 per month
