Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our team in the UAE, supporting power, utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end civil design, including site development, grading, drainage systems, foundations, and underground utilities for HV/EHV substations and major EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Surveys & Feasibility: Conduct field surveys and data collection for civil works across bidding, basic design, and detailed engineering stages for HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations.
- Civil Design Execution: Deliver civil engineering designs for power, industrial, utility, and infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa.
- Site Development & Utilities: Prepare and review drawings for site development, grading, roads, paving, stormwater/drainage, underground utilities, and general civil layouts.
- Foundations & Cable Works: Prepare design calculations and drawings for heavy equipment foundations, building foundations, cable trenches, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Calculations & Documentation: Develop design calculation reports, technical specifications, earthwork volume estimations, and detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ/MTO).
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate civil interfaces seamlessly with electrical, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
- Vendor & Site Support: Review vendor and subcontractor technical submittals, respond to Technical Queries (RFIs/TQ), and provide engineering support during construction and as-built documentation.
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering and design experience in industrial, infrastructure, utility, or power-related projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in site development, grading, drainage, roads, foundations, underground utilities, and earthwork volume calculation.
- Software Mastery: High proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Standards & Communication: Strong familiarity with international civil engineering/design standards and professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in substations, transmission lines, power plants, solar/renewable energy, or broader power EPC projects.
- Direct project experience within the UAE / GCC region.
- Familiarity with local UAE municipal, authority, and utility submission requirements.
- Proficiency with relevant structural analysis and civil design software.
