Responsibilities:

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Chief Resident Engineer (Wet Utilities) to join our team based in Riyad, Saudi Arabia. This position is responsible for leading the construction supervision team to ensure that the project will be delivered on time and within budget according to the contract. The role will supervise the work of the site engineers, surveyors, inspectors, and all other disciplines working on the construction site.
We envisage success in this role to include;
  • Managing and overseeing all wet utilities works, including potable water, stormwater, sewer, and irrigation networks, covering the diversion of existing live utilities and the construction of new and upgraded networks for major arterial road sections and multilevel interchanges within a congested urban environment.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of contracted design elements and Construction Management / Supervision services in line with client expectations, contractual requirements, and overall project objectives.
  • Reviewing the Baseline Programme and Contractors’ Working Programmes for each section of works, ensuring compliance with project milestones, delivery requirements, and external stakeholder requirements and approvals.
  • Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved designs, safety standards, quality requirements, and contractual obligations, with particular attention to the Contractors’ procurement schedules and long-lead items.
  • Coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, MEP, and roadworks disciplines, to ensure seamless integration of wet utilities within the overall infrastructure works, particularly the timely diversion of existing utilities to facilitate the opening of major work fronts.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to Contractors, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, addressing technical queries, and resolving site-related technical issues in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 20 years of professional experience, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role and/or on comparable infrastructure projects.
  • Infrastructure Projects: roads, highways, bridges
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the Middle East.
  • Proven track record of working with key utility stakeholders and authorities in Riyadh.
  • Demonstrated experience in microtunneling and directional drilling.
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver accurate, clear, and timely reports in a fast-track project environment.
