We're looking for an experienced Chief Resident Engineer / Project Director to lead the construction supervision and delivery of major projects for a Tier 1 Engineering firm in Dubai. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design intent, contract requirements, quality standards, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all site supervision activities throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Administer and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, cost control, and project timelines.
- Chair progress meetings and coordinate with clients, project management teams, design managers, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
- Review and oversee the approval process for technical submittals, material submissions, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, procedures, as-built documentation, and inspection requests.
- Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and site activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and proactively resolve technical and contractual issues while maintaining effective stakeholder communication.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements across all project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 25 years of relevant experience in construction supervision and project delivery.
- At least 15 years of experience leading projects of a similar scale and complexity.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the United Arab Emirates.
- Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and proven expertise in construction and site management.
- Corporate membership with a recognized professional engineering institution is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
