Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the financial strategy, planning, risk management, and operational financial functions of the company. The CFO will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance while ensuring the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in logistics and transportation financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability in the logistics sector.
Ensure effective capital allocation and investment strategies to optimize financial performance.
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
Financial Operations & Compliance:
Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT regulations, and other financial regulations related to the logistics industry.
Optimize cash flow management, working capital, and cost efficiency.
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Risk Management & Cost Control:
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Monitor fuel costs, fleet financing, leasing agreements, and operational expenses.
Ensure cost-efficient procurement and asset utilization.
Business Performance & Decision Support:
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team for strategic decision-making.
Analyze profitability of logistics routes, fleet investments, and pricing models.
Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong financial governance.
Foster relationships with investors, banks, and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with operations, sales, and procurement to optimize financial strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the logistics or transportation industry.
Strong knowledge of financial planning, risk management, and cost control in a logistics business.
Experience in fleet financing, leasing, and cost optimization strategies.
Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
